English is used in the business sector, public administration and higher education. Employment in Bangladesh is divided between 3 large sectors. Agriculture employs nearly 40%, industry 20% and services 40%. For decades, workers have been arriving from Bangladesh, including countries in Europe and Asia. More than 14.9 million Bangladeshi workers work in more than 170 countries around the world. Great emphasis is placed on training employees to provide them with the greatest possible value in the foreign labour market. Bangladesh has trained a total of more than 8 million foreign workers in skilled, semi-skilled and low-skilled categories over the past twelve years. In the same period, around one million female workers were given opportunities to work abroad. Bangladeshi workers are known for their ability to work, they work hard in search of a better living, and they expect overtime from their employers.
